In 2022, the average import price for yarn; of hemp (cannabis sativa l.)s amounted to $9,286 per ton, falling by -35.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 168% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $14,398 per ton in 2021, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($10,583 per ton), while the price for Russia ($4,522 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+11.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of yarn; of hemp (cannabis sativa l.)s, when their volume decreased by -62.6% to 2.3 tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 154%.

In value terms, imports of yarn; of hemp (cannabis sativa l.)s reduced dramatically to $22K in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 187% against the previous year.
