Liquefied Butanes Price in Poland (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average liquefied butanes import price amounted to $743 per ton, surging by 21% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 58%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $819 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($2,712 per ton), while the price for Russia ($560 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+13.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In August 2023, the average liquefied butanes export price amounted to $644 per ton, growing by 10% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2022 when the average export price increased by 53% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $1,274 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to August 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Hungary ($757 per ton) and Italy ($720 per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland ($547 per ton) and Germany ($554 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (-0.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Liquefied Butanes Imports in Poland

In 2022, approx. 116K tons of liquefied butaneses were imported into Poland; picking up by 18% on the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild shrinkage.

In value terms, liquefied butanes imports soared to $87M in 2022. Overall, imports showed a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 75%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

Liquefied Butanes Exports in Poland

In 2022, the amount of liquefied butaneses exported from Poland soared to 15K tons, with an increase of 28% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a perceptible increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -21.7% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 44%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 20K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, liquefied butanes exports skyrocketed to $16M in 2022. Overall, exports saw a significant increase. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
