In December 2023, the average import price for yarn; of fine animal hair, carded, not put up for retail sale amounted to $23,480 per ton, reducing by -19.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 an increase of 197% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $115K per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to December 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2023 an increase of 94% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $51,100 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to December 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Belarus ($30,698 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($12,126 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kyrgyzstan (+35.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
