In October 2023, the average import price for wool; (not carded or combed), degreased, (not carbonised), shorn amounted to $2,660 per ton, with a decrease of -25.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 when the average import price increased by 48% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,550 per ton, and then fell dramatically in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the UK ($40,860 per ton), while the price for New Zealand ($2,585 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+28.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, export price for wool; (not carded or combed), degreased, (not carbonised), shorn decreased by -17.1% against August 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 an increase of 107% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,601 per ton. From September 2023 to October 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
