The average import price for wine; still, in containers holding 2 litres or lesses stood at $2.6 per litre in December 2023, dropping by -11.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a temperate expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 207% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $5.8 per litre. From February 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($13.4 per litre), while the price for Hungary ($830 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+13.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for wine; still, in containers holding 2 litres or lesses stood at $2.3 per litre in December 2023, picking up by 8.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 24% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2.7 per litre. From August 2023 to December 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5.2 per litre), while the average price for exports to Russia ($1.4 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Montenegro (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports of wine; still, in containers holding 2 litres or lesses into Serbia shrank to 11M litres in 2022, which is down by -6.6% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports saw a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs at 11M litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, imports of wine; still, in containers holding 2 litres or lesses declined to $28M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 39% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $29M, and then declined in the following year.

In general, exports, however, recorded a noticeable downturn. The exports peaked at 12M litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, exports of wine; still, in containers holding 2 litres or lesses soared to $20M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 18%. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
