From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of wine imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by China (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest wine markets worldwide were the U.S. ($X), the UK ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined X% share of global imports.China, Canada, Japan, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Russia and Portugal lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

Wine Import Prices By Country
The average wine import price stood at $X per tonne in 2016, rising by X% against the previous year. In general, wine import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011, when import increased by X% against the previous year level. Over the period under review, average wine import price attained its maximum level of $X per tonne in 2008- however, from 2009 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.
Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was Switzerland ($X per tonne), while Portugal ($X per tonne) was among the lowest.
