The average winding wire of copper import price stood at $11,923 per ton in January 2022, growing by 12% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a moderate increase from January 2021 to January 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on January 2022 figures, winding wire of copper import price increased by +22.0% against November 2021 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2021 an increase of 66% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $17,572 per ton. From July 2021 to January 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the countries with the highest prices were Germany ($15,178 per ton) and Brazil ($11,731 per ton), while the price for Mexico ($11,437 per ton) and China ($11,630 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $9,884 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($52,893 per ton), while the average price for exports to Colombia ($4,153 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+20.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
