In October 2023, the average export price for white sugar (containing >= 99,5% sucrose) and chemically pure sucrose amounted to $1,003 per ton, flattening at the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 15% against the previous month. Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($1,375 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($895 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Estonia (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
