Price for Wheat and Meslin Flour in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average wheat and meslin flour export price amounted to $371 per ton, reducing by -3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 2.1% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $530 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Iraq ($411 per ton) and Palestine ($379 per ton), while the average price for exports to Somalia ($312 per ton) and Syrian Arab Republic ($320 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Palestine (-1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In July 2023, the average wheat and meslin flour import price amounted to $385 per ton, growing by 9% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 69% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,184 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($400 per ton), while the price for Russia stood at $355 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Yemen (0.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Exports of Wheat and Meslin Flour in Turkey
Wheat and meslin flour exports from Turkey expanded to 3.1M tons in 2022, surging by 2.8% against 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a mild slump.
