Price for Wheat and Meslin Flour in Ghana (FOB) - 2022
The average wheat and meslin flour export price stood at $459 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -11.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a perceptible reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 24% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $601 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Togo ($708 per ton), while the average price for exports to Benin ($262 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Niger (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average wheat and meslin flour import price stood at $320 per ton in 2022, waning by -7.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $459 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Exports of Wheat and Meslin Flour in Ghana
In 2022, shipments abroad of wheat and meslin flour was finally on the rise to reach 67K tons after two years of decline. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a drastic downturn.
