In March 2023, the average import price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen amounted to $1,734 per ton, picking up by 3.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 24% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,176 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to March 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($10,935 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($1,406 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+11.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, enjoyed a noticeable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 60% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,472 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Haiti ($2,098 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($327 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Costa Rica (+29.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
