The average import price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen stood at $1,018 per ton in 2022, increasing by 50% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The import price peaked at $1,250 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($2,602 per ton), while the price for Lebanon ($648 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, imports of vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen skyrocketed to $6.5M in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a significant increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
