In 2022, the average import price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen amounted to $1,207 per ton, picking up by 54% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a pronounced descent. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,654 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($1,452 per ton), while the price for Belarus ($404 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Pakistan (+10.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In general, the export price, however, posted a notable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 193% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $953 per ton, and then fell markedly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($1,566 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia amounted to $237 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+13.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $6M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
