The average import price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen stood at $1,296 per ton in 2022, rising by 15% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $1,343 per ton in 2012; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($2,341 per ton), while the price for China ($851 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $2,163 per ton in 2021, and then reduced notably in the following year.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($2,106 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($1,506 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
