The average uranium ores and concentrates import price stood at $11,772 per ton in 2021, which is down by -31.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a dramatic descent. The import price peaked at $34,356 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($28,000 per ton), while the price for Japan stood at $10,949 per ton.

From 2019 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (0.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Uranium Ores and Concentrates in Indonesia

For the third year in a row, Indonesia recorded growth in supplies from abroad of uranium ores and concentrateses, which increased by 53% to 145 kg in 2021. In general, imports showed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 111%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, uranium ores and concentrates imports stood at $1.7K in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% from 2019 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 5.2% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
