The average export price for tomatoes; prepared or preserved otherwise than by vinegar or acetic acid stood at $682 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 3.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the average export price increased by 31%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $979 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($837 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($312 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, overseas shipments of tomatoes; prepared or preserved otherwise than by vinegar or acetic acid decreased by -23.4% to 29K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 314%.
