The average import price for tomatoes; prepared or preserved otherwise than by vinegar or acetic acid stood at $1,384 per ton in November 2023, which is down by -2.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 15% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,502 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to November 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,550 per ton), while the price for Cyprus ($963 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
