The average import price for tobacco; partly or wholly stemmed or stripped stood at $7,099 per ton in 2022, remaining constant against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 48%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $7,632 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,392 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,673 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($575 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
