In June 2023, the average tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted" import price amounted to $3,228 per ton, shrinking by -2.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 3.2% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $3,326 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for France.
From July 2022 to June 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for France amounted to +0.1% per month.

In August 2021, the average tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted" export price amounted to $3,365 per ton, picking up by 49% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2021 an increase of 943% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $24,023 per ton in September 2020; however, from October 2020 to August 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In August 2021, the country with the highest price was the UK ($21,860 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($2,150 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2020 to August 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+0.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Overall, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +17.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -11.5% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 82% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 6K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted" imports soared to $18M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -13.2% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 85% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $21M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
