The average sulphates; alums; peroxosulphates (persulphates) import price stood at $191 per ton in August 2023, shrinking by -30.5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 97% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,213 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($549 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($66.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (-0.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 43%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,234 per ton, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,336 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($395 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+11.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
