The average export price for steel, alloy; angles, shapes and sectionses stood at $603 per ton in March 2024, with a decrease of -1.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2023 when the average export price increased by 25% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $734 per ton. From January 2024 to March 2024, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In March 2024, the country with the highest price was Australia ($1,595 per ton), while the average price for exports to Myanmar stood at $583 per ton.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Myanmar (+1.0%).

In 2022, the average import price for steel, alloy; angles, shapes and sectionses amounted to $1,038 per ton, with a decrease of -15.1% against the previous year.
