In November 2023, the average import price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses amounted to $4,708 per ton, picking up by 27% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 34% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,181 per ton. From March 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($22,821 per ton), while the price for China ($2,586 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovenia (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses stood at $4,328 per ton in 2022, growing by 24% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 56%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($9,698 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($2,776 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+131.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
