In 2022, the average import price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses amounted to $3,825 per ton, increasing by 12% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 21% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $5,580 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Estonia ($10,025 per ton), while the price for Kazakhstan ($937 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Estonia (+8.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The export price peaked at $6,226 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($10,163 per ton), while the average price for exports to Armenia ($1,662 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
