In 2022, the average import price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses amounted to $2,181 per ton, waning by -26.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate slight growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 64% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,968 per ton, and then contracted notably in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($10,874 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($938 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+9.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($49,514 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($3,213 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kuwait (+46.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
