The average import price for vanilla stood at $76,861 per ton in 2022, falling by -2.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, enjoyed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average import price increased by 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $78,573 per ton in 2021, and then dropped modestly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($212,513 per ton), while the price for France ($60,094 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+11.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
