The average import price for vanilla stood at $93,502 per ton in December 2023, picking up by 63% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 180% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $496K per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Madagascar.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Indonesia amounted to +3.2% per month.
