The average import price for spices; nutmeg, neither crushed nor ground stood at $10,156 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a deep reduction. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $25,577 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $53,645 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Serbia ($62,593 per ton) and Slovenia ($55,934 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($42,018 per ton) and North Macedonia ($45,159 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovenia (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
