The average export price for spices except pepper or ginger stood at $7,259 per ton in June 2023, shrinking by -10.5% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 when the average export price increased by 60% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $9,618 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Austria ($17,927 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($6,060 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for spices except pepper or ginger stood at $5,733 per ton in June 2023, falling by -8.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 an increase of 33% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $7,230 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
