In 2022, the average import price for spices; cardamoms, crushed or ground amounted to $20,752 per ton, dropping by -13.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a measured increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 50%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $27,572 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+146.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, enjoyed perceptible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 53% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $32,622 per ton in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($32,166 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($16,270 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Spices; Cardamoms, Crushed or Ground in Belgium
