Price for Sodium Sulphates; Other than Disodium Sulphate in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
In November 2023, the average export price for sodium sulphates; other than disodium sulphates amounted to $221 per ton, remaining stable against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a slight curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 8.9% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $273 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to November 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In November 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Italy ($235 per ton) and the UK ($235 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($175 per ton) and Belgium ($192 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average import price for sodium sulphates; other than disodium sulphates stood at $442 per ton in 2022, rising by 26% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $502 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($5,255 per ton), while the price for Germany ($421 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+40.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Sodium Sulphates; Other than Disodium Sulphate in Turkey
After three years of growth, overseas shipments of sodium sulphates; other than disodium sulphates decreased by -15.1% to 14K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 50% against the previous year.
In value terms, exports of sodium sulphates; other than disodium sulphates shrank to $4M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +56.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 41% against the previous year.
