In November 2023, the average export price for silk waste (including cocoons unsuitable for reeling, yarn waste and garnetted stock)s amounted to $10,341 per ton, declining by -2.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 23% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $12,037 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($10,715 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh stood at $771 per ton.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+0.3%).
