In August 2023, the average import price for equipment for scaffolding, shuttering, propping or pit propping amounted to $3,951 per ton, with a decrease of -14.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 27% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $4,617 per ton in July 2023, and then declined in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($5,653 per ton), while the price for Poland ($1,732 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In August 2023, the average export price for equipment for scaffolding, shuttering, propping or pit propping amounted to $1,989 per ton, growing by 5.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 157% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $5,503 per ton. From February 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($9,907 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($300 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+9.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Scaffolding, Shuttering, and Propping Equipment in Norway
In 2022, imports of equipment for scaffolding, shuttering, propping or pit propping into Norway expanded rapidly to 20K tons, surging by 11% against 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
