The average import price for ready-mixed concrete and factory made mortars stood at $732 per ton in November 2023, dropping by -45.9% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 87% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,603 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to November 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($874 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($348 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In November 2023, the average export price for ready-mixed concrete and factory made mortars amounted to $274 per ton, picking up by 94% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible contraction. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $536 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Turkmenistan ($459 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($137 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Georgia (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Ready-Mixed Concrete and Factory Made Mortar in Turkey

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of ready-mixed concrete and factory made mortars, when their volume decreased by -20.9% to 5.7K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 7.2K tons, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, imports of ready-mixed concrete and factory made mortars declined rapidly to $6.3M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +13.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +45.4% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 39%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $7.7M, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.

Exports of Ready-Mixed Concrete and Factory Made Mortar in Turkey

In 2022, overseas shipments of ready-mixed concrete and factory made mortars decreased by -4.3% to 14K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, total exports indicated a mild increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -29.8% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 20K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, exports of ready-mixed concrete and factory made mortars surged to $4.1M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
