The average import price for press-fasteners, snap-fasteners, press-studs and parts therefor stood at $6,860 per ton in July 2023, with an increase of 17% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 346% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $20,639 per ton. From March 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($41,944 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($2,666 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for press-fasteners, snap-fasteners, press-studs and parts therefor amounted to $12,239 per ton, with an increase of 5.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a noticeable decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 23%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $18,799 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tunisia ($29,927 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($3,549 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+8.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
