The average import price for polymers of vinyl chloride or of other halogenated olefins, in primary formses stood at $1,104 per ton in October 2023, rising by 1.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a pronounced setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 10% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,413 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to October 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($1,568 per ton), while the price for Hungary ($1,008 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average export price for polymers of vinyl chloride or of other halogenated olefins, in primary formses stood at $1,715 per ton in 2022, growing by 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for polymers of vinyl chloride or of other halogenated olefins, in primary formses increased by +102.4% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 51% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $1,827 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($2,555 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($1,400 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Egypt (+25.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 115% against the previous year.
