In December 2023, the average import price for polymers of vinyl chloride or of other halogenated olefins, in primary formses amounted to $989 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 5.8% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,122 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to December 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,549 per ton), while the price for Poland ($250 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,298 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to December 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Russia ($13,008 per ton), while the average price for exports to Georgia ($703 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+15.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
