In December 2023, the average export price for polymers of vinyl chloride or of other halogenated olefins, in primary formses amounted to $1,162 per ton, rising by 7.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2023 an increase of 13% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,438 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($1,452 per ton), while the average price for exports to Uzbekistan ($727 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Tanzania (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
