In December 2021, the average import price for polymers of propylene or of other olefins, in primary formses amounted to $1,599 per ton, rising by 4.5% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2021 to December 2021, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2021 an increase of 15% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,688 per ton in May 2021; however, from June 2021 to December 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the highest price was recorded for prices from South Korea ($1,653 per ton) and Thailand ($1,642 per ton), while the price for China ($1,426 per ton) and the United Arab Emirates ($1,592 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for polymers of propylene or of other olefins, in primary formses stood at $817 per ton in December 2021, standing approximately at the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate measured growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2021 an increase of 261% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,242 per ton. From June 2021 to December 2021, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Italy ($861 per ton), while the average price for exports to Rwanda totaled $687 per ton.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+17.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
