In December 2023, the average import price for polymers of propylene or of other olefins, in primary formses amounted to $1,179 per ton, leveling off at the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 7.8% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,296 per ton. From May 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($1,382 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($680 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the export price, however, saw a perceptible decline. The export price peaked at $1,749 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Russia ($2,473 per ton), while the average price for exports to Peru ($951 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
