In December 2021, the average import price for pectic substances; pectinates and pectateses amounted to $11,545 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2021 an increase of 65% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $15,964 per ton. From May 2021 to December 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Denmark ($27,814 per ton), while the price for Spain ($1,333 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average export price for pectic substances; pectinates and pectateses amounted to $6,192 per ton, waning by -5.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, pectic substances; pectinates and pectates export price increased by +15.6% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $8,452 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($10,436 per ton), while the average price for exports to Brunei Darussalam ($1,036 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
