The average import price for peat; (including peat litter), whether or not agglomerateds stood at $229 per ton in 2022, surging by 9.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $232 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($424 per ton), while the price for Belarus ($183 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $378 per ton in November 2023, and then fell rapidly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Syrian Arab Republic ($441 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iraq ($23.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Syrian Arab Republic (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
