In November 2023, the average import price for peat; (including peat litter), whether or not agglomerateds amounted to $288 per ton, rising by 3.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a slight shrinkage. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $342 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to November 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($374 per ton), while the price for Ireland ($214 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ireland (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Overall, the export price enjoyed a significant increase. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.
