The average export price for peat; (including peat litter), whether or not agglomerateds stood at $112 per ton in October 2023, which is down by -5.5% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 19% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $142 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to October 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Egypt ($322 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($85.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
