Price for Organic Surface Active Agent in Azerbaijan (CIF) - 2022

The average organic surface active agent import price stood at $1,427 per ton in 2022, growing by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a abrupt downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 140%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $6,581 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($10,144 per ton), while the price for Iran ($709 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Price for Organic Surface Active Agent in Azerbaijan (FOB) - 2022

The average organic surface active agent export price stood at $3,999 per ton in 2022, picking up by 40% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 47% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $4,705 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iraq ($5,569 per ton), while the average price for exports to Georgia amounted to $3,625 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports of Organic Surface Active Agent in Azerbaijan

In 2022, purchases abroad of organic surface active agents decreased by -12% to 3.4K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 34%.

In value terms, organic surface active agent imports totaled $4.9M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $5.2M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
