In August 2023, the average import price for offal, edible; of swine, livers, frozen amounted to $671 per ton, growing by 3.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a mild slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 12% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $736 per ton. From March 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Spain ($717 per ton) and Sweden ($697 per ton), while the price for Germany ($650 per ton) and Poland ($650 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for offal, edible; of swine, livers, frozen stood at $2,216 per ton in 2022, surging by 95% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 243% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,429 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Georgia ($2,485 per ton), while the average price for exports to British Virgin Islands ($875 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Moldova (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

For the third year in a row, Ukraine recorded decline in overseas purchases of offal, edible; of swine, livers, frozen, which decreased by -55.4% to 3.5K tons in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a precipitous setback. The smallest decline of -15.4% was in 2020.

In value terms, imports of offal, edible; of swine, livers, frozen reduced remarkably to $2.4M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a dramatic decrease. The smallest decline of -10.8% was in 2021.
