Price for Non-Soap Washing and Cleaning Preparations in Kuwait (CIF) - 2021

The average import price for non-soap washing and cleaning preparations stood at $2,043 per ton in December 2021, falling by -7.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2021 an increase of 6.6% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $2,480 per ton in February 2021; however, from March 2021 to December 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($2,474 per ton), while the price for Oman ($1,071 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (-1.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Price for Non-Soap Washing and Cleaning Preparations in Kuwait (FOB) - 2021

The average export price for non-soap washing and cleaning preparations stood at $1,580 per ton in December 2021, shrinking by -7% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a measured expansion from January 2021 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0% over the last eleven months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, non-soap washing and cleaning preparations export price increased by +9.4% against October 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2021 an increase of 37% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,028 per ton in May 2021; however, from June 2021 to December 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($2,319 per ton), while the average price for exports to Qatar ($1,271 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Non-Soap Washing and Cleaning Preparations in Kuwait

After three years of growth, purchases abroad of non-soap washing and cleaning preparations decreased by -1.6% to 224K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 6% against the previous year.

In value terms, non-soap washing and cleaning preparations imports amounted to $355M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 13%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $356M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
