Price for Non-Refractory Clay Constructional Products in Iran (FOB) - 2022

The average non-refractory clay constructional products export price stood at $409 per ton in 2022, leveling off at the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 57%. The export price peaked at $1,130 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($1,732 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkmenistan ($139 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lebanon (-1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average non-refractory clay constructional products import price amounted to $2,022 per ton, growing by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 80%. The import price peaked at $2,147 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($13,693 per ton), while the price for Germany ($775 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Exports of Non-Refractory Clay Constructional Products in Iran

After three years of growth, overseas shipments of non-refractory clay constructional products decreased by -18.4% to 43 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 106% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 53 tons, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

In value terms, non-refractory clay constructional products exports shrank rapidly to $18K in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +30.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 60% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $22K, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
