The average import price for non-PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings stood at $4.9 per square meter in September 2023, with an increase of 13% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a mild decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 106% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $11.9 per square meter. From December 2022 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($22.8 per square meter), while the price for Hong Kong SAR ($2.6 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Price for Non-PVC Floor, Wall and Ceiling Coverings in Denmark (FOB) - 2022

The average export price for non-PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings stood at $8.2 per square meter in 2022, shrinking by -18.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $10 per square meter in 2021, and then fell notably in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($14 per square meter), while the average price for exports to Canada ($2.4 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Norway (+10.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Non-PVC Floor, Wall and Ceiling Coverings in Denmark

In 2022, purchases abroad of non-PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings was finally on the rise to reach 2.8M square meters after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, faced a dramatic slump. Over the period under review, imports of attained the peak figure at 6.4M square meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, imports of non-PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings reduced to $15M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +32.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 28% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $17M, and then shrank in the following year.
