In 2022, the average import price for non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk amounted to $0.8 per litre, with a decrease of -3.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk import price decreased by -27.0% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 20% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $1.1 per litre in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1.7 per litre), while the price for Tanzania ($0.4 per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+31.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk amounted to $0.9 per litre, surging by 10% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a dramatic decrease. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $8.3 per litre in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sao Tome and Principe ($1.8 per litre), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($0.8 per litre) was amongst the lowest.

From 2015 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sao Tome and Principe (-5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports of Non-Alcoholic Beverage, Not Containing Milk in Angola

In 2022, imports of non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk into Angola soared to 4.5M litres, rising by 73% on the previous year. In general, imports posted prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 139%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk imports soared to $3.7M in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 81%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In general, exports recorded a dramatic downturn. The smallest decline of -11.8% was in 2021. The exports peaked at 2.2M litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk exports fell sharply to $117K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a precipitous slump. The smallest decline of -46.3% was in 2021. The exports peaked at $4M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
