In 2022, the average import price for new pneumatic tyres, of rubbers amounted to $85 per unit, jumping by 16% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $88 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($217 per unit), while the price for Sri Lanka ($29 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $130 per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($206 per unit), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($56 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of New Pneumatic Tyres, of Rubber in Latvia
For the fourth year in a row, Latvia recorded growth in supplies from abroad of new pneumatic tyres, of rubbers, which increased by 6.5% to 2.7M units in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 9.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
In value terms, new pneumatic tyres, of rubber imports skyrocketed to $233M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +61.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
